Post subject: intelc52 and the solution

Ok- I read some of the previous posts on the subject... but that doesn't really help me any. You see, the computer that is having the problem is about 340 miles away from where i am.(i am fixing it for a friend)- And she gets a blue screen that more or less says that i need to turn video shadowing off. Now before, you said it was right when the computer started up. Im running a HP computer, so like f1 is boot setup -esc is something else and so on. But none of the places that any of the buttons take you have a place to turn video shadowing off- The only problem is, is her compter is a dell... and im assuming that she would have similar screens come up- and from what ive been trying to do, there isnt a way to do it once the computer is booted.... so i guess what im asking is- how the heck do you turn the stupid video shadowing off? I mean ive been working on it for about 2 hours now, and cant find the right ...."pre boot menu" to be able to disable it. If you have anything of any use please let me know, especially if you have a dell or have had the same problem. The problem ive heard usually originates from a cannon scanner. If i cant turn the video shadowing off ill have her uninstall the driver for it... but i would like to keep it working if at all possible. thanks again

Dear Ricochet1490,

sorry no solutions, only questions. Did you get this sorted and if so how did you do it?

I have pretty much the same problem right down to the Cannon Scanner. I also have McAfee of which I'm a bit suspicious.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks,

Mike

Dear Mike,
The problem I had witht the Intelc52 error never got resolved. The computer belonged to my friend and the I think she said they had to re install windows XP. the scanner they had was a Dell scanner. Although not a cannon, it mihgt have had something to do with the problem. The problem exists somewhere in the bios. The bios is the hard link between your software and hardware,(i had to find that one out the hard way) when it says look to turn off video shadowing, you may be able to do it irght off start up. To adjust your bios settings, you have to go from startup. With different computers and motherboards the keys are differnt, but on startup there might be a screen that says something like, "ESC for ____" or "F1 for ___" or something like "F10 for____". DEL is also a commonly used key. If you cant find your bios setting through one of those pre- boot menus, I would call your computer maker and ask how you can. And if adjusting your video shadowing doesn't work, the only other thing i could tell you is to reinstall XP- your personal files should still be retained on the computer even if you have to reinstall. Thats about all I know though, sorry i couldn't be more of a help.

Anytime,
Trace

Dear Trace,

great help thank you!

Reinstalled XP after removing all IntelC52.sys files (probably unnecessary). Seems to work fine!

I'll save all the BIOS stuff for another time, sounds hard work.

Mike

Data is invalid ERROR... Ah but with no common solution! - I upgraded my mainboard from an FIC AZ11E to a MSI K7N2 Delta series and found that XP would not let me load the mainboard driver updates off the net only the outdated ones on the install CD. So I wiped my drive and started over without any pci cards...
