Post subject: need help with desktop

hi, you know the icons on the desktop and how they are labelled like My
Computer or what ever umm how do you get rid of the colour behind the font on
the icons or how do you make the colour behind the writing transparent?

Right click My Computer>Properties>Advanced>Under Performance>Settings>Check
"Use Drop Shadows for labels on Desktop"

New laptop. On my other computer (windows xp also) I am able to drag icons
to the task bar (i usually keep the icons hidden). I an unable to do this on
my laptop desktop toolbar...even though all program are the same. Help and

Textbox on desktop has color of desktop - Hi, Could someone please help me. Now all my icons on the desktop have a textbox that is grey (can change the color). But I want them back to be transparent. Is there out there someone that has a solution?

desktop - In the desktop section of desktop properties, when I chose the background drop down menu it has every picture in the 'my pictures' folder listed, although this is not a big problem it is very annoying as only one quarter of the pictures listed are..
