Help! I have been having a problem accessing my office mail using the
internet and Lotus Domino Web Access. When I try to access my inbox I get
the message "error encountered retrieving data. click on browser's refresh
button to reload page". I have had this problem for approx. 2 months. I
have Windows XP Home Edition with SP2. I have added the web url to the
trusted sites list but this has not helped. I have Norton Internet Security
2005 Antispyware edition. I think the Lotus Notes version we use is
6.0.22.0. IE version 6.0.2900. Thanks for any help!.

Hello bakerdw,
we hawe the same problem with a newer version on Domino.
We have tried the following:
1) In IE, please uncheck the "Do not save encrypted pages to disk" (Tools >
Internet Options... > Advanced > Security section)
2) Delete the IE iNotes object in the downloaded files directory on the
client (Tools > Internet Options... > Settings button on the General tab >
View Objects button)
The cause of this problem may be the presence of two versions of iNotes
class files in this directory: iNotes class and iNotes6 class. To resolve
it, delete the file iNotes class file (version of this file for R5), clean
the cache and restart the browser
3) Enable Sun JVM (Tools > Internet Options... > Advanced)
4) Download and install MS KBID 837251
5) Install MS MSXML 4.0 SP2
6) Add *.ibm.com as an allowed site to pop-up blocker settings or turn off
the pop-up blocker
7) Change the Internet Security settings to enable automatic prompting for
ActiveX controls
Cool Download & replace the actual Domino template with the newest version
(6.5.4)
9) Uninstall IE 6, included the service pack and reinstall IE again

At the moment the problem is not resolved.
We would try to install a PC with W2K and IE6 with an original technet
CD...may be ?
The problem become with W2k pro and IE6 or W2003 and IE6.
It works perfectly with WinXP pro service pack 1 and IE 5.5 or W2k pro and
Firefox !!!
Did you find any other solution ?
Thanks for further informations.

Thank you for the reply. I did solve the problem on my PC-it was the Comcast
modem. I finally convinced Comcast that I needed a new modem and the day
after the new modem was installed I no longer had the problem. Hope this
information is helpful to others.
