Hi everyone,

I hope someone out there is able to help me with this
problem.

When I click on Start/Programs/Accessories/System
Tools/System Information, I get the following message:

"Can't Collect Information"

"Access denie3d to Windows Management Instrumentation
server on this computer. Have an administrator c hange
your access permissions."

Here's the trouble: This is MY computer. I AM the
administrator. I am running XP Professional and have
only one user name, mine. I have administrator rights.

Why is this message coming up? It is frustrating me to
no end. I don't like being locked out of certain aspects
of my own computer. Anyone have a solution? I am an
intermediate computer user. Windows Support want' $35 to
help me. Can anyone help me for free?

Thanks.

Russell

Dear Carey,

Thanks for the information. I will try this fix, using
the directions found on the link you gave me. I'll let
you know if it works.
