Take a look in your Startup Folder (Right-click on the Start button, choose
"Open", double-click on "Programs" and then open the "Startup" folder) and
see if there are any shortcuts in there.

I am having the same problem. I try to run msconfig, but it says it cannot
find the file name. i also tried to right click on start, open, programs,
startup, and that folder is empty. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

The first place to look for disabling s/w from starting is in program's
options, or preferences, whatever that specific app calls it.
Under there, it's usually a section....'General', or 'Startup Options', or
similar. >> Stay informed about: Stop files opening at startup |

[ I recently had a problem after Outlook Express kept loading on Startup
(having just downloaded Microsoft updates) and looked EVERYWHERE but,
apparently, the problem is with a programme Hcontrol.exe and ATKOSD.exe.
These are only active on laptops and i unchecked them from Msconfig and
the problem went away with no side-effects; so what is going on?
