Create a new folder on the desktop. Cut and paste everything in My
Documents to the new folder. If this solves the problem, find a new home
for everything you moved and then limit the amount of stuff you file in My
Documents in the future.

Hi,

Do you Defrag regularly? If not, try that. Also, check your Startup
Tab in Msconfig. There may be programs running in the background, that
you don't use regularly. Leave checked only those you want to run at
Startup. Use Google to check out any files you don't recognize. Some
malware loads itself at startup, and really slows down the system. Scan
for adware, malware and viruses.

A bloated My Documents Folder can slow down your system. Create a My
Docs Folder, and move most of the files and folders into it. Since it's
not a System Folder, it won't slow down your system as My Documents
does. Also, empty your Temporary Internet Files, Cookies and Off line
Content, regularly. I do it once a week at least. Empty your Recycle
Bin, and Windows Temp Folder, also.

Hope it helps.
