Hello Guy,

here are some answers to your questions:

1. Why do we do multihoming?

Sorry, I have no answer. I donīt know what is multihoming. Please explain me
multihoming. Thank you.

2. How is server different from a PC?

The Windows NT 4.0 Server was shipped with a DHCP-Server, WINS-Server and a
DNS-Server. The Windows NT 4.0 Workstation donīt has such features. Both
Windows NT 4.0 Server and Workstation run on a PC with 32 MB RAM and a 80386
CPU.

3. differences between NT4.0 and win2k?

I would say the main differcent is that Microsoft has added in WIN2K the
active directory. In NT 4.0 you had to use the user- and the computer
manager.

Further questions?

regards,

Dirk Lehmann

from NT4 ResKit Workstn.hlp :

"Windows NT Workstation 4.0 has higher hardware requirements
for Intel-based platforms:
· 486/33 or higher processor
· 12 MB of memory (16 MB recommended)
· 120 MB of free disk space
· CD-ROM drive (or access to CD-ROM drive over the network)
· VGA or higher resolution graphics card
Windows NT Workstation also supports symmetric multiprocessing
(SMP) configurations and RISC-based platforms such as MIPS,
Alpha, and the PowerPC. "

The main differance is win2k supports newer hardware
1) IDE disks larger than 8GB (I do know NT4 SP3 added
some support for disks over 8GB).
2) Support for "plug and play".
3) Support for USB.
