We gracefully retired a DC some time ago, but while looking through DNS, I
see that it still has SRV records in _tcp_ldap, and _kpasswd, and finally
_kerberos. Why would these still be listed? The demotion completed without
errors? this is a windows 2000 AD/DNS question.

thanks

chris

Once the DC is gone, Delete anything DNS associated with
it. (If the DC is still a server leave its ordinary A, etc.,
records but should those be deleted you can reregister them
with "IPconfig /all".)

Assuming you really did the DCPromo "gracefully" while
everything was still working they SHOULD have been
removed.
