Issue: Lexmark Z55 connected to WindowsXP Pro is seen on LAN by Win98SE but
doesn't appear when attempt is made to print from the 98SE.

I recall downloading a driver to the XP machine and extracting the files.
Nothing was done on the 98SE. My insticts tell me to find the printer on the
LAN using Explorer from the 98SE, right printer, and select install. If I'm
subsequently asked for a driver location, I'd give the location of the
folder on the XP where the 98SE driver appears to have been extracted.

Correct?

I appreciate the help, Jon. While attempting to set this up, noticed that
extracted file contains a setup file which I'm pretty sure I never clicked.
The Lexmark is operating when used with the XP so I know I installed the
driver for the XP. Shouldn't I run that unzipped setup file in the file I
made on the XP for the 98SE? The 98SE wizard is asking for a disc but I'm
going to provide what it's looking for by directing it through the "Network"
screen on that wizard. But when I see it directs me to Map A Network Drive
and asks for a path, I can give it a letter OK but the path will go only as
far as the main directory that contains the driver. Perhaps that will change
if I click the setup file in the folder on the XP for the 98SE driver. Or
will it simply find what it needs automatically after I run setup?
