I have that same problem. I have deleted adware and got a new anti-virus
program and run scans with no viruses detected and I still get the freeze.

When I had that problem a few years ago and nothing I did worked, I finally
uninstalled and reinstalled Windows and Internet Explorer (or whatever
browser u use), and that helped the problem. I was told that I probably had
some kind of virus, trojan horse, spyware, etc. and none of my antivirus
software EVER picked it up. This is a drastic solution, but maybe it will
help u, it did me. Someone w/more knowledge may have a better answer for you
tho. Good luck just the same with whatever u decided to do.
