You have stated that your CDRW, the device recognized by BIOS as being on
the secondary controller, is an external device. Is it connected to the IDE
controller and just happens to reside outside the computer, or is it
connected via another port (eg., USB, Firewire)? I know that you're not
experiencing problems with that device, I just found it odd that the BIOS
was recognizing it as installed on the secondary channel, as I immediately
assumed (yes I know, don't say it! <g>) it would be a USB or Firewire
device.
