I am running Windows 98 second edition...I am able to connec to the
internet, but unable to connect to my server.
I have tried release/renew and get the error 32: renewing adapter.
I have checked my settings against another computer on the network, and
the only difference I can see is, on my computer the NetBIOS Resolution
uses DNS is checked...could this be causing my problem? If so, how do
I uncheck this?
Thank you for any and all help.

How are you trying to reach the server? have you tried to ping it by ip
address, then by name? unless you have a dns server then you dont want
this checked, but you do want netbios enabled. i think if you try and
access the server by ip address it will work.

Thank you for the response,
I am trying to reac the server thru my network cable...here is the
really weird thing....I "forgot" I counldn't access the server and went
to open an excel file, and it opened, so I opened My Computer and saw
the F; drive, but I cannot access any programs, but I can access
files!!??!!
I created another user and am not having problems, but that did not fix
my problem..I will try to access the server via the ip address....will
let you know what happens.
Thank you

I dont believe you can run programmes like that from another machine.
You can only access files.
