my wallpaper on is on one quarter of my screen it does not cover the rest of
it and all my icons are on the one quarter of the screen you can not mve the
icons to the white part of the screen either

In the same dialog that you use to set the background image there is a dropdown
box for "Display". Select the "Stretch" property the click Apply button.

Images that are smaller in size than your desktop resolution will be somewhat
distorted. For example: 1024 x 768 desktop res and an image size of 800 x 600
when stretched will appear grainy and fuzzy. A larger image size (e.g., 1280 x
720) will be compressed and look fine.

Wallpaper will not change - I cannot change my desktop wallpaper. When I go to display properties, then desktop, " background" is not highlighted. Also When I go to themes I have 'my current theme' and 'modified theme' neither of which will delete permanently.
