Thanks very much for that advice. Sorry I haven't replied sooner but in
the end I decided to do a complete
system reload and now, fingers crossed, no sign of 'whssvc.exe' and as
I am not an expert it took some time to
re-install all my programmes etc.
I shall keep that information as it may be useful some time
