I recently reformatted my harddrive and reinstalled XP. When I did, I copied
my documents and settings to another drive and back again. However I ended
up with a Papa user and a Papa_2 user. Only one is a user according to the
control panel. The other I can't get rid of but it shows up in the windows
explorer.

What should I do?

Hi,

Next time I suggest to use File and Settings Transfer Wizard - is built-in
in WinXP.
Make sure that you do not try to delete settings for user who is curently
logged on.
Is possible, that you will need take ownership over whole folder (and
subfolders) before deleting.

They're not users, they're profiles. One of these is the profile for your new
account - if you delete this it will cause serious problems. The other is the
profile from your old account - this presumably has your documents.

First you need to find out which is your current profile. Put a file into your
"My Documents" folder and see which profile it winds up in.

Move all your documents from your old profile to your new one. You can then
delete the old profile, though I'd recommend moving it somewhere in case you
missed something you'll need later.

Harry.
