On my desktop I created a password for my adminstrator account and enabled a
user account with no problem

Now I'm on my dell notebook windows xp sp2 and created a password for my
adminstrator account any replied yes to protect my files and documents. Then
I enabled guest acccount

Whats happening at logon is my admintrator account is asking for passoword
and the guest account is available. But when I choose guest account it goes
through windows logon for a while then returns to the login screen where it
asks for my adminstrator password and where the guest account is

Does anyone know a way to protect my files and docuements from the guest
account and not have the error

I have noticed laptops work or later ver's of MS XP work a little different
but when you setup your guest acct. before enabling it. That is, is it set to
admin or client level and did you just copy your Admin acct. or set programs
access. Try checking that from your Admin after disabling Guest acct.

Thanks for answering my question. I try what you suggest; I think I got into
this mess because I had a hard disk crash with my original dell notebook.
Lost restore partition and had a compter repair shop re-load windows xp and
drivers without any cds for restore. The repair shop load I believe created
a User account. My backups had my adminstation account name. I think . I
can't remember but I think I created my superisor account using this user
account that was created by the repair shop. Then I think I deleted this user
account . And for some reason download files using temp directories failed .
I think this is effecting the guest account
