tough doom 3 problem for the GREAT jimmy s.!

i reinstalled doom 3 perfectly from the 3 cds. when i tried to apply patch
1.3, got the message that the game was already patched to that level, even
though the registry version read 1.0. then i tried the 1.2 and 1.1 patches
and got the same message. the 1.05 patch DID install and changed the
registry version to 1.05. retried the other 3 patches and still no luck! i
presume there's a file somewhere on my pc that is read by the patches and
says falsely that i'm fully patched.

Sound like you'll need to Nuke and Pave.
Uninstall the game completely, then search your drive
for any lingering Doom files or folders and send them
to your recycle bin. Scan your registry as well using:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download460.html

Afterwards, reboot and install Doom 3 the 1.3 patch.
