gone in c drive temp folder (including hidden files) and deleted all under
'temp' folder heading. there are loads in files headed 'xml' and 'folder' can
I delte these as well? (currently on a learning curve!)

Yes, anything in TEMP won't be needed after a restart, including
sub-folders.
