I'm trying to figure out how to get the task bar (that's what I call it) to
display in Windows Explorer.
I'm trying to create an FTP connection...
If I go into Windows Explorer and click on "My Network Places" I don't have
the "Networking Tasks" bar down the left side of the screen.

I went into Help and found the topic about adding a network place and when I
click on the link in the help tpic, I get an Windows Explorer window with
the blue area on the left that has Network Tasks, Other Placed and Details.
In the Network Tasks area is the link for the "Add a Network place" wizard.
From that point it works fine.

How do I get that task bar back?

Thanks

Kelvin

Go to Control Panel and double click on Folder Options.
On the General page, make sure "Show common tasks in folders" is selected.
Click OK.

For more info, take a look at these web sites.

Enable or disable Common Tasks pane in folders

"Single-click to open an item" choice in Folder Options is grayed out
