I have a new computer with IE7 and Firefox. When we go on websites that play
sound, such as Google Video, the sound is not played. I don't know of any
settings that could be changed to enable this. I also don't hear any sound
when entering or logging off my Windows account, even though the settings say
they are switched on. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thx

What I have noticed annoyingly, is that sometimes when I build a machine the
sound is on but muted. Go into Control Panel, and look for the Sound and
Audio Devices icon. Make sure that the sound is not muted.

Also, as IE7 is relatively new, I have heard that not all websites will work
correctly with it. You may need to downgrade your browser to IE6.

Thank you for that reply. I've checked Control Panel and the sound isn't
muted. Some websites will play sound but those that won't didn't do it under
IE6 either, so it really is a mystery as to why this is happening.
