Nobody can help you with so little information. If you're looking for
help, you need to be much more explicit about your situation.

1. What speakers are these?

2. Did you have old speakers? Did they work? Why did you change them?

3. Did you just change the speakers or the sound card too? What sound
card?

4. Did you turn up the volume control on the speakers?

5. Do the speakers not work at all, or just for some uses. Audio CDs?
Windows sounds?

6. Exactly what were the "all kinds of things" you tried?

Basically need you to explain the problem, and answer my questions.

Your problem must be the other thing that you did not try!

Check your settings for sound in the Control Panel.

Hi. This question is for Frank: I've been reading all the "Q" & "A"
regarding sound problems. I have a question: I already had upgraded to
XPSP2, then noticed all my MS WORKS programs were gone, I think, but I did
have sound. So I reinstalled all my MSWORKS, etc. discs. Since doing that,
I now have no sound, & I checked & my speakers are plugged in. Is it
possible that this happened due to my reinstalling all the MSWORKS programs
AFTER I'd upgraded to XP? And if so, should I uninstall XP SP2 & reinstall
it? I'm at a loss & would sincerely appreciate any advice you can give me.
Thanks much! ~Cie'

I can't see SP2 or Works doing that. I have no idea what caused it.

Uninstall and reinstall the drivers for your sound, considering the lack of
infomation.
