Greetings Debby,

A few things could be causing this.

The first and most likely is that Windows Messenger is being started in the background and
signing you in. You can stop this behavior by clicking the Start Button, then click the
Control Panel. Then, click User Accounts in the Control Panel. Select the Windows account
name in question, and then on the left side of the screen, under Related Tasks, click 'Manage
my Network Passwords'. In the window that opens, click the Passport.Net\* (Passport) entry
and click 'Remove'.

The second is that you've signed in somewhere else and saved the password by accident. If
this is any case, you really should change your password here:

Hi Jonathan, thanks for your help, i tried everything you suggested and i
find that my msn is still saying i'm signed in to another computer. The
strange messages are being sent to people when i'm not even online, then
people think i'm ignoring them! I don't know what else to do...could it be an
msn virus?

your PC infected
Once open, the virus automatically downloads, infecting your computer. The
worm file stores itself in the computer's memory and sends new infected
messages every few minutes to all contacts in your Windows Messenger's
Contact List.

your PC infected

1)Download CCleaner to clean out all the temporary and unused files. If this
is not working for you check method 2.

2)Download impFix - this should fix your problem.
