I am brand new to Live Messenger 8.5.
How can I search for contacts? I can add anything I want (i.e dog.TakeThisOut@cat.com)
and it will go onto the contact list, I seriously doubt that contact is
real. I want to search for a friend and be given the option to add them
only if they have an account. For example if I want to add a contact in
Skype or ICQ I have to find them, if they exist I can request to add them to
my List, if they do not exist I can not add them.
TIA
Wayne

Greetings Wayne,

Due to privacy concerns, I don't believe it tells you anymore in Messenger itself. If you
use older versions of Messenger (7.0 for instance), it still will though.

There used to be a trick to bring up MSN Profiles based on e-mail address so you could do it
that way, however that no longer exists either.

Lost MSN contacts - Hi there! After a 6 months period of no usage of MSN (I know, a long long time...), today I connected to messenger and... SURPRISE! All my contacts were no more there. Is this behavior normal? Is there a way to recover the contacts? Any hint..

Missing Contacts - Live Messenger would not let me sign in yesterday with my password and forced me to change it. Now when signed in with my ID and new password all my contacts are gone! What's happening?

blocking contacts - New user: when you block a contact in Live Messenger does your name appear as "blocked" or "offline" on their screen?

Won't delete contacts or unblock contacts - I even did a fresh install of Windows XP, and the same problem with a contact being blocked even after I unblocked them, occurs. What is happening? Shawna Mann

not showing contacts online - I have XP Pro SP2. After I log into Windows Live Messenger, none of my contacts show online when I know that some are in fact onine. I know this because one of my contacts is another computer in my house. Any suggestions??
