Hi,

I've a windows xp w/ sp2 from DELL.

i connected a newly ntfs formated sata hard drive (250 GB). it allows me to
save files to the drive and create folders and delete folder.

when i look at the attribute of the folder or file, it says it is Read-only.
i can delete it if i take the drive out and use it as a usb drive. if i put
it back to the win xp box, it won't even let me delete a file.

how can i correctly remove the Read-only attribute? I've tried right click
folder and uncheck the attribute. i have tried attrib -R folderName from
DOS. neither work...

please help.

thanks.

That is wierd. One thing to try is to backup anything you need on the drive,
then go to Computer Management - Disk Management and find the new drive. Try
reformatting it and if that does not help delete the logical drive, create
it again and reformat it to see what happens.
