I feel really stupid for even having to ask --- but I thoughtlessly added a
website shortcut to my desktop. Now I can't figure out how to remove it.
Can someone tell me how to do this?

Single-click it to select it, then press the delete key.

Or right-click it and select delete.

Or drag it to the recycle bin.

This does not work in Vista if the program has been uninstalled yet the Icon
is still there.
For example, i uninstalled Yahoo Mail, but the icon was still there. I tried
to delete it and got the message " This is no longer located in [location].
Verify the item's location and try again."
Now what? Do i have to try to reinstall just so i can delete the icon only
to uninstall the program again????
