when connecting with remote desktop connection, i see that "taskeng.exe" is
runnign under the user name. In fact I dont know what this is and it uses
quite a bit of memory. If I end task this program, there is no problem

In fact, I want to disable "Task Scheduler Engine" so it does not even run
when i dial into the Vista machine.

Can you please advise how to prevent Task Scheduler Engine" from
starting/running in the first place from a remote connection?

regards,

taskeng.exe is core task of the Windows Vista Task Scheduler and should not
be disabled. You may want to troubleshoot the problem instead of disabling
it. This post may help.
