Is it possible to program the special buttons along the top of the
keyboard.(email, search etc) to generate a sequence of characters? I'd
like to be able to enter passwords and ID's into forms when logging
into various sites. It would be helpful for my friend who has arthritic
hands. He has tried the auto-complete function but it works fine only
on one bank site but not others.

You've asked this question at least half a dozen times in the past few days, and people keep responding. Are you seeing the
responses?

Perhaps the OP doesn't know how to check replies, they are not visible, are being filtered, or something else. Maybe a direct email
response is needed to make sure they get it.

Re the multiple postings - I posted once, then deleted it and posted
once more to clarify my problem. I got your reply and one other - (very
helpful) IThis was the first time on this group. If you know where I
erred please let me know. Thanks

I didn't say you erred, I just thought you weren't seeing the suggestions. It just feels like I've seen several posts mentioning a
friend with arthritis in this and/or another newsgroup, and I'm pretty sure they were posted under different names, but I probably
just looking at the wrong line.

No, it wouldn't necessarily. Some websites specifically have code to disable autocomplete on some fields. It's a pain in the butt,
but they do it for "security".

Here's another suggestion; use a clipboard type application. There are apps which will allow you to save clips of text which you
can easily paste with a couple of clicks of the mouse (no keyboard required at all!) I can't find the ones I have come across, but
I'll take a look and see if I can find them. This way, your friend can save login names, passwords, pretty much anything at all,
and then just click to paste it into the fields. Even better, it can be used for anything on the computer, not just websites.
