When I click on a link inside a Java window, the link doesn't open in a
browser window, it tries to open in windows media player and I can't figure
out how to get it to stop and open links in a window.

thank you in advance.

Normally Java is linked with a .js maybe your .js has been changed?

You tried Add/Remove, uninstalling Java runtimes, and re-downloading it from
their site? http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp
