I'm using a Digidesign Mbox for various audio projects. Sound goes through
it fine, but the problem is it won't appear as an option for a default audio
recording device. It will however show up as a default audio playback
device. How can I solve this?

I am very happy with the configuration of my M-Audio Firewire Solo external
sound card in software such as Reason, Ableton Live and a variety of others.
What I'm having to major issue withpresently is how WMP11 sets up Audio
Devices in the speaker properties. I assign everything to the M-Audio
Firewire Solo in the Sound Playback section and after applying the changes
I'm completely annoyed by didgital noise when playing back CDs through WMP.
Crystal clear playback with any other source. With CDs there's an intermitent
digital noise. I tried changing Firewire cards... I even tried disabling my
onboard soundcard. Nothing seems to get rid of this problem.

Anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
