Post subject: exec - not recognized as a command - path problem? Get Alert

Hi All!

I have a strange problem, probably connected to path. When I restart my machine, and try to run an exec, I get "not recognized as command" error (although it is in the PATH).

When I enter My Computer->properties->Advanced->environment variables, and just press "ok" without changing anything, the exec is visible again to the system. This is very annoying.

I work on a development machine, and the PATH in system variables is well over 255 chars (DBMS's, IDE paths etc. - all of them are needed); but the user PATH is under 255 chars (that's where the path to my exec is located). I suppose this can be the source of the problem, but I may be wrong.

Does anyone know how can I correct this? Maybe it's possible to split PATH to more than one system variable? Would this solve the problem?

TIA for any help,
wooysiah
