Hope someone can help.
When I insert any dvd the dvd drive light flashes twice and clicks
twice but nothing can be read from it.
Windows explorer acts as though it's empty.
I've deleted upper and lower filter values in registry and device
manager says this device is working.
I thought I would uninstall driver then reinstall. I unistalled with
device manager and D:/ disappeared from decice manager and "my
computer" tree but after a reboot it reappears but still not working.
Drive is toshiba ODD-DVD SD-R6372 and driver is 5.1.2535.0(can't find
a later one)
Why can't I uninstall the driver and any ideas about the root cause of
the problem.
Thanks

DVD / CD drives all use the built-in Microsoft drivers. There are no
other drivers.

If the drive does not work then the drive itself has an internal
problem and should be replaced. DVD / CD / hard drives are devices
that have mechanical components that can / will fail.
