Post subject: disconnect problems Get Alert
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>security_admin (more info?)

I'm constantly getting disconnected from the internet, sometimes by trying
to open another window from an url or anytime I try to send email from
Outlook Express. I've noticed this since yesterday, I recently upgraded to
IE7, didn't have this problem with IE6 SPII. I use Norton AV 2006, WinXP.
While trying to mail in the msn newsgroup (via Outlook) winxpsecurity_admin,
at anytime I can be disconnected, usually this happens when I click onto a
heading.

If I try to answer/send an email, I get an error from symantec, the (1003,9)
error, your message was unable to be sent..., it only appears when I try to
send email. There website mentions if I get an error message like this for
other reasons-like when I try to go to a different website, there might be
a possible infection. I will call my ISP to see if they can help on this.

After reading the response to subject line "Search Hijacker", I did the
following:

I did download the BHO Demon2, it did find the NAVSHEXT.DLL, that has been
on my computer since 2/5/06 (funny, I find this 1 year later...). It
mentions the last load attempt was on 11/19/2006, it has 21 load attempts
and 0 blocked attempts. I disabled this via BHO Demon.

I also got rid of the older versions of Java, downloaded that latest
version, just need to install it.

Any help on this would be appreciated, thank you.

Regards,
ko

Try uninstalling IE 7.0. You can do so by finding it in Control Panel/Add
and Remove programs and being sure to check show updates. I don't know
offhand why you are having a problem but if IE6 works you may want to stick
with it. Some applications or combination of applications do not seem to
work well with IE7.
