Post subject: how to disable control panel
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>security_admin (more info?)

How do I disable the control panel in xp pro?

I tried the gpedit.msc and yes I was able to disable the control panel from
there. But it also disabled it for the admin also. I would only like it for
the users only.

group policy settings from being applied to all users. Note:

Be careful when making changes to the Local Security Policy. As
you've found, changes made apply to all users. I've found it's
helpful to put a shortcut on the Desktop of an administrator
account to the Group Policy folder as well as to gpedit.msc.
