I copied the "My Music" folder to the desktop. When I right-click it,
properties tells me it is empty. When I try to delete it, I get an "access
denied" error message. Any other folder on the desktop I can manipulate as
usual.
I imagine that the copy acquired some of the system folder characteristics
of the original folder. How can I make sure that the "My Music" system
folder in "My Documents" still is recognized as a system folder, and how can
I delete the one on the desktop?
Thanks,
Clem. >> Stay informed about: Cannot delete copy of "My Music" folder |

Try to delete the folder from safe mode command prompt.
Possibily access permissions are the cause.
Try removing third party firewalls.

Ady,
Thanks for your reply. I tried deleting the folder from safe mode (command
prompt), and disabled
trend micro's and windows' fire wall, neither approach worked. I finally
used system restore, that fixed the problem.
Thanks,
Clem.

Hi Clem,
See:
"Access is Denied" Error Message When You Try to Open a Folder:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=810881
And, inspect the My Music folder path in the registry. You may have *moved*
it to the desktop.
Reset the Shell Folders paths to defaults:

P.S.: I did check the registry, and the default locations of the system
folders had not changed.
