I did have a HP computer with windows XP where I had 1 password protected
file created with Word Perfect Productivity Pak. My motherboard blew and I
now have an E-machine with Windows Office (home trial). I am unable to open
this file but I am able to open with Office Excel but it is unreadable. I
have used the Microsoft take possession with both administrator and owner but
still get the error 'cant convert password protect file' and I do not know
how to access the password box as the options in Tools is unavailable. The
files from my old harddrive were transferred using an external unit. Any
suggestions will be welcome. Thanks

install WordPerfect and open the passwordprotected file.

That certainly makes sense. Guess I wasn't thinking far enough ahead. Thanks

Here's one: I have a password protected document that I cannot convert. It
certainly makes sense to open in WordPerfect, but it was removed from all pcs
in the company. Any ideas? Thanks. ps

The obvious solution would be to reinstall WordPerfect and remove the
protection, maybe the demo would do it.
