My computer was fine on Monday and Tuesday it won't start windows without
running a "Check File System". It advises me to check the system, so I did
and it ran for about 40 minutes extremely slow and said "File record
segment_____ is unreadable. It did this from file 2156 to file 109,136; then
noted it was completed and wouldn't continue. I had to reboot and it asked
me to run again. Each time I reboot it asks me to do this, or hit a key to
discontinue. When I discontinue I can get into windows but it takes 10
minutes or so to load and then reads, "Please wait while Windows configures
Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage". Why is it doing this?
Help!

I'am not an expert but I saw a lot of weird things in many Windows OS and
this sound like a HD failure, let chkdsk finish and if you can restart
windows check system event log for notifications about HD failures.
