Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>video (more info?)

I used Windows 98 initially. When I played any movie on windows media
player, I could pause it any moment, take a print screen and print it
as an individual image file. Now I use Windows XP and windows media
player 10. While playing movies, if I pause, take print screen and
paste it to save it as an individual picture, only black screen
appears.

Can anyone tell me why this is so !

With the MPlayer for Windows (originally a Linux/UNIX application that
needs Cygwin/X to run) it is the same.

However, if with Cygwin/X I connect to a Linux machine, execute MPlayer
there, let it display on the windows machine, and press the "Druck"
(Screenshot) key of Windows, I get a fine screenshot. It works even
without Pause in the MPlayer. I have published it in the newsgroup
alt.binaries.multimedia.d ...

I am sure that this is a complicated matter, but this may help to find
out what exactly happens.

It is no longer there, but look at:
