Hi, just wondering if anyone can offer any help on a problem I'm having. I'm
running a PC with XP home SP2, 2.4ghz intel processor, 128mb radeon 9250
graphics card, 1gb ram and for some reason or other, no matter which of my
dvd drives I try to use, whether it be my DVD rom, DVD/CD-RW Combi or my
DVD-rw drive, nothing works. I try using WM Player 11 and WinDVD but they
both have an error message come up (Windows Media Player has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.) and
(Software DVD Player has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience.) If anyone has any idea's what is going on and
how I might fix it I would greatly appreciate it.

What are you trying to do in WMP that causes the errors...If trying to
play dvds on WMP,did you know that ati cards get you free dvd playback
software from ati web site,+ its on the ati installation cd...Other than
that,
error messages can be found
at:http://support.microsoft.com/gp/tshoot_wmp11_more
However usually its youre software or simple settings that cause them...

I had the same problems with Windows Media player (Ver. 9 & 11) DVD
player and Intervideo DVD, until I downloaded VideoLAN ( free at
www.videolan.org/ ) It works great.
