Hi
I don't want IE7 update, but it keeps being downloaded waiting for me
to install. Even though I click cancel, it just sits in the tray.
How do I remove it from the tray & stop it downloading?

Do a manual run @ http://update.microsoft.com
Choose "Custom", once the table of available packages is shown
Expand the details for IE7 and click the option box " Do not show
this update...."
From now on, Microsoft update won't offer IE7 to you.

Disable automatic updates. Manually download the updates that
you want installed.

Better - click on the system tray item, select install, select 'I'll
tell you manually what to install', DON'T select IE7, and then someplace
after that you get the option of 'don't tell me again about rejected
updates' ... take that option (tick the box).
