Windows XP Home SP2
When the computer boots, Windows XP Security Center tells me that Norton AV
is turned off.

Owner had Norton 2004, which had expired. I uninstalled it using Add /
Remove programs and Norton's SymRT [ removal tool ].

Computer had malware, which I removed.

Where is Win XP looking for, & finding that NAV 2004 was installed on the
computer?

It is not in the Sys Config.

There are no Norton / Symantec services running.

Where is the registry is Win finding the past existence of Norton 2004?

NAV 2004 was uninstalled using Symantec's removal tool & Windows Cleanup
Utility.

Sincerely,
WC
