Just an FYI for Vista in general, logging in as Administrator does NOT run
programs as administrator.
If you right click, you should be able to "Run as administrator"
Doubt this is related to your problem, but it's worth mentioning.
I'd suggest trying the install again. If you've got an upgrade version,
don't install XP but do the following:
- format
- install Vista but do NOT put in your activation key
- once installed, do an upgrade install overtop of the existing Vista, using
your activation key.
Vista can use itself as an upgrade path.
