| Hi i'm trying to make a VPN connection, but for some reason when i got to the
properties of the vpn connection and go into users, i can't change the users
access password, there is like a huge password that keeps coming back even if
i create a new user account, it will automically give it the same password
that i don't know. Can anyone please help?

I have never tried to change the user password there so I don't really know
if you can do that. Why not go into the control panel "User Accounts" and
change the password there?

Also, the password you see in the VPN window on the server is a place holder
only and used to hide the actual password.

Is that the exact error message?

Well, I just tried this on a Vista Ultimate box and a XP Pro box and in both
cases I could "Add someone..." to the authorized clients list for the VPN
server, create a password, login, logoff, change the password, login and
logoff. My testing was over my local network just to see if I could login
after creating the account, etc.
Other than...
1. Verifying the correct user ID and password (start with a short simple
password).
2. Looking in the Event viewer for possible error messages.
....I really have nothing further to offer. Hopefully someone else can chime
in here and offer further help...

This illustrates where I added a new user w/password to my VPN server
authorized users list. Its basically the same for Vista and XP.
