I just got the AT&T Uverse service installed in my home. We have 2 standard
tvs and 1 Media center computer with receivers. Everything works with the
media center computer except the program guide. Vista Media Center is not
programmed to pull the UVerse guide.

I'm wondering a couple things.

Is anyone else is having the same issue?
Have you found a solution for this issue?
I have a MCE remote and was wondering if there is a way to program the guide
button to pull up the guide from the receiver and not media center.

If its IPTV it will have a guide and a dvr, but not sure if that guide will
work with MCE.

I have the same Uverse installation and was wondering how you got the tv
tuner to work. I had to use the S-Video output of the set top box to my TV
tuner input but I could never get the MCE to recognize the remote.

Since it wouldn't recognize the remote, I couldn't change the channels. I
understood that no television signal can be accessed without the set top box
so I never tried using the MCE tuner.

I have two MCE Extenders that rely on changing the channels as the computer
is in a different room.

Could anyone please explain how the MCE would change the channel while
connected to the output of the set top box? Perhaps I'm not clear on the
concept. When I had Comcast, the tv signal came through without using the
set top box - though MCE tuner would decode only the basic service channels.

Many thanks in advance.

Same issue. the remote control for my MC won't work on my Motorola Uverse
box. also guide isn't there for Uverse @ all yet. Maybe Microsoft won't
acknowledge IPTV yet cause AT & T is so in with yahoo but I wish MS would get
on the horse here and update for us early uverse adopters.

Zap2it is the one who supplies the guide and they are rolling it out now, as
I already have the Uverse guide for my area. As for the remote not working
AT&T or Motorola might be able to shed some light on how to get it working
or at least should be made aware of the problem.

I was so excited when AT&T announced they were going to offer video and then
they spoiled it with Uverse being over copper.

The question I ask is "Which Remote?"

Microsoft Media Center only truly recognizes one remote correctly

That is the Microsoft Media Center Remote Control.
It comes with a remote, and USB IR transceiver and two IR transmitters which
is placed over the IR receiver of your set top box.

Click on the last thumbnail to see the IR Box and 'Bugs' included.

Hi and thanks for the reply.
The remote that I was trying to use came from the Media PC.
I tried putting the Media Center into learning mode but I did not get
anywhere with that. I pushed "1" 50 times and no use.
The Meida Center simply can not turn the channel of the U-Verse settop
box.
Also, There is no way to record on my computer.

I would just like to get this as functional as when I had Comcast.( I
could never download a guide to record with them either but at least my
remote worked).
Thanks for the reply again!

-just got at&t u-verse

-did anyone figure out how to get windows media center to accept the
signalls from the at&t remote controll

-also i can't find at&t guide list in the media center download list

-i had comcast and it worked fine with the media center, but i got a
30 day free trial with at&t. if i can't sort out the problems with
at&t/media center i will probably go back to comcast (even though at&t
has a better picture and better pricing when couple with their
internet service)

@ billmongics.TakeThisOut@gmail.com

i also just got att uverse. i agree with you that the picture looks
much better. i just switched from charter.
are you using an ir cable?

i don't know if that will solve your problem. i need one... during the
setup i just stuck in headphones to the back of my media center receiver
and it recognized it as an ir cable. so that is why my remote doesn't
work.

my questions for the community.

i had to connect my set top box via svideo and rca. i had my old cable
connected via coax and it worked find. but for some reason my noise gets
all messed up when i connect uverse via coax. i'm thinking it has
something to do with the software/hardware in the motorola box?
it doesn't really matter... i have it working. i'm just curious

i have a MAJOR problem however. my set top box lags SO MUCH when i'm
watching tv on media center. if i want to change the channel it takes 2
seconds for the channel to actually change. i'm using the uverse remote
rather than the media center remote.
also it lags for all functions.

the other problem i am having is a keep getting a very slight TICK
noise every 11 seconds. it is so consistent i am able to count how many
seconds between ticks.
it is everyy annoying.

any help would be most appreciated

-mike
