Post subject: User Rights Assignment: Perform Volume Maintenance.
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>security_admin (more info?)

Hi there,

I have windows XP PRO SP2 installed on my stand-alone computer. I assigned
"Perform Volume Maintenance Tasks" User Rights to a user created on it
through the in-built administrator account.

However, when I tried to Defrag my drives through the user account, I
received "You must have Administrator privileges to defragment a volume"
message.

Any suggestions?

Regards,
SANGFROID
