Is it safe to uninstall Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Sign In
Assistant and Windows Live Toolbar? I never use it and do not intend to ever
use it!
Can I uninstall them from Control Panel?
Thank you,
Fred.

Greetings Fred,

Yep, nothing depends on it; feel free to remove.

You can remove it via Add/Remove programs in control panel...

Actually, the option in Add/Remove Windows Components there in Add or Remove Programs will
just remove the shortcut -- it'll still stay around.

To properly and completely remove Windows Messenger 4.7, you'll need to click the Start
button, then click Run and enter:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
Then click OK.

Jonathan, good God Almighty! Thanks for the advice as I want to go to an
earlier version to see if it corrects problems which started occurring on IE7
the day I installed Live Messenger (06/05). Those problems by the way are
instances of IE7 just freezing or upon opening trying to open two tabs. I
believe I have the two tabs issue cleared by changing an option but the
intermittent freezes still occur.

Thanks again,

Billy
