Stored Username & Password wiped out after password change

Running Novell Client but I need to map a couple of drives to a windows 2000
server and the credentials need to be there because SQL server needs them.
The PC is running Windows XP and keeps the credentials (the password is
different, username is the same) in the Windows Password Store. However,
whenever there is a Novell password change, the windows password store gets
wiped out!!!! The credentials are gone and the mappings no longer work - very
frustrating.

The following applies:
- windows password synchronization is turned OFF on the Novell Client (so
that the local windows password is not getting reset when the Novell password
resets)

-the password store doesn't seem to get wiped out until the PC is powered
off for a significant period of time. For example, I reset my Novell
password, reboot, the credentials are there. However, when I shut down and
leave it off for several hours, when I come back and login, the windows
credentials are wiped out.

-Network Access: Do not allow the storage of credentials (etc) in the local
security policy is DISABLED so it should not be affecting this issue
