Post subject: Cannot Select Analog tuner Get Alert
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>mediacenter (more info?)

I have a brand new HP pavilllion with Windows Vista Home premium.
I added a "ATSC NTSC Hybrid HDTV PCI TV Tuner /Digital Video Recorder" card,
the manufacturer is Geniatech and the model is X8000A.
The Card has a digital tuner and an Analog tuner, the digital signal from my
cable company looks to be very weak.
When I try to configure the TV tuner in Windows Media center the only option
I am getting is the Digital tuner, even when I tell Media Center that I am
going to configure it manually.
(I don't use the digital tuner because after a scan it finds some chanels
but the signal is too weak and no image is displayed)

The card comes with other software and I can configure it to use the Analg
tuner, but I rather use Windows Media Center to record and watch TV.

Is there any way to make Windows Media allow me the select Analog TV tuner?

TIA

As best I can determine your tuner card does not support the DBA interface
required for use in MC for analog broadcasts. And if it did you would not
be able to comfiture both its analog and its digital tuner for use in MC
since it is a hybrid tuner card and both tuners are not available
concurrently which is a requirement for both of them to be configured in MC.
