Post subject: Repair install?

What is a "Repair Install", and how do you perform one? I just went through
major headaches going from Vista back to XP, and if I ever have to repair my
OS, I'd like to do it as painlessly as possible.

It's simply an "install over"

just Google for "XP repair install" for the exact instructions
