Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>perform_maintain (more info?)

My laptop won't boot up. I get an error saying that MSVCP60.DLL is missing
and a reinstall of the software may fix it. Anyone know what software? are
they talking Windows itself?

it doesn't come up in any kind of safe mode. I have taken restore points on
my other machines but may have forgotten to on this relatively new
trouble-free Toshiba.

Anyone aware of a download I can use to get by this. I am embarrased to say
that I don't know where I put the cd that came with the laptop. I checked
the support site on Microsoft.com but couldn't find anything specific.

any ideas?
