Real player and Windows Media Player - MPEG problems

Post subject: Real player and Windows Media Player - MPEG problems
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>video (more info?)

For some reason my computer has stopped playing MPEG video files on
Realplayer and WMP. I can get them to play on Quicktime so I know the files
are not corrupt. Aslo where before I could play video files embedded into
Powerpoint presentations and MP3 files also, that is now not happening either.
Can anyone out there help me before I go mental!!!
I am operating on XP on a Toshiba Sattelite M60 notebook.

You probably need to authorize the player(s) to the file-types.As it might be,
more than 1 are trying to play the same file.In WMP,open tools,options,file-
types tab...
